  1. A GDP density map of the world

    Project write-up, , 9 min read

GDP per square kilometre for 6,500 regions, and a smoothed version that shows where the world's economy is dense and where it is empty, regardless of borders.

  2. JointSurvivalModels.jl

Open-source Julia package, with Roche, (PDF)

Write one function, the hazard, and get a full probability distribution that a Bayesian sampler can score and simulate from. For developers with some statistics: the interface, how it is computed, and why it had to be a distribution.

  3. Julia for joint models

Master's thesis, ETH Zürich, with Roche, (PDF)

Joint models let a tumour's growth curve inform a patient's risk of death. For statisticians: the hazard from its definition, the joint likelihood with a non-linear mixed-effects model, and how a Bayesian fit in Julia was checked against R and Stan.

  4. Is paraconsistent logic the logic of mathematics?

    Bachelor thesis, ETH Zürich, (PDF)

In classical logic a single contradiction proves everything. My bachelor thesis asks what it costs to build a logic where it doesn't, and whether mathematicians actually reason in one.
